WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RENT AT DOWNEAST TOYOTA RENTAL?

Driver’s License: A valid state, national, or international driver’s license is required.

Insurance: Full coverage insurance on your personal vehicle is required. If you have questions about whether or not you have adequate insurance coverage, please contact your insurance agent.

Age: You must be age 21 or older to secure a leisure rental. Renters can be age 21 or older to rent for insurance replacement, service, corporate, Downeast Auto Body or as an additional driver.

CAN YOU PICK ME UP?

Drop-Off & Pick-Up: We have a shuttle van that will transport customers in the Bangor area to and from our Rental Department during working hours.

Hotel & Airport Pick-Up: We can make arrangements to take you to or from the airport or a hotel, but hours of this service are limited. Please call for more details.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY RENTAL?

Acceptable Forms of Payment: A major credit card (a card supported by a predetermined line of credit not a bank account or prepaid balance) or a debit card (see debit card regulations below) in your name, must be presented at the time of rental. You can pay by cash, personal check, credit or debit card at the time of return.

Credit Cards: Your card must have an available credit line sufficient to cover your rental cost plus a minimum of a $200.00 deposit. You cannot use another person’s credit card to secure a rental. However, if the cardholder is present at the time of return, we may use their credit card for the final payment as long as proper identification is presented.

Debit Cards: If you wish to pay by debit card, you must prequalify. Please contact our office for more information on how to qualify for a rental using your debit card.

WHAT FEATURES DO YOUR RENTALS HAVE?

Typical rental features include AM/FM CD player with Bluetooth connectivity for your personal devices, air conditioning, automatic transmission, electric windows, cruise control and power steering. Some 4 door Yaris Models do not have electric windows or cruise control.

Some of our newest rental units offer XM radio.

Note: Features may vary depending on model and availability. We offer Garmin GPS system rentals with any vehicle for just $10 extra per day or $20 extra per week.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET A TRAFFIC TICKET OR CITATION WHILE DRIVING MY RENTAL?

Renters are responsible for all traffic, parking and toll violations that are incurred during the term of the rental.

If you have an EZ-Pass account, you may use your transponder in the rental vehicle. It is not recommended that you add the tag number of the rental to your account. In cases where your transponder does not work properly or has a low battery the tag will be photographed and your account will be charged the toll cost before a violation is generated and a penalty is charged.

Please inform us if you think you have a pending toll, parking or traffic violation. We will assist you in resolving them before extra fines and penalties are incurred.

IS MY MILEAGE LIMITED?

All rental agreements include unlimited mileage in New England!

MAY I RETURN MY CAR TO ANY TRAC LOCATION?

Rental vehicles cannot be returned to any TRAC location. All vehicles rented from Downeast Toyota Rental must be returned directly to us at the end of the rental agreement.

WHERE CAN I LEAVE MY PERSONAL VEHICLE?

Renters may park their personal vehicle on site at their own risk. Downeast Toyota Rental and Downeast Toyota family of companies are not responsible for any damages or lost items.
